The time has come! Indie Tech’s quarterly release is here and we’re excited to announce several new features to our all-in-one platform. Our team worked hard to make a more flexible, easier and faster website with the needs of news publishers in mind. Now, we also fully support French and Spanish websites — check out the work of our friends from Pivot, Conecta Arizona and La Esquina TX! Keep reading to learn what’s new at Indie Tech and what’s coming up next.
✨ What’s new:
- Translation-friendly: Now readers can experience your website in Spanish or French! The Audio/Video post type tags and sponsored content label are customizable as well. For example, you can change “Audio” to “Podcast”.
- Live chat: We added a new support channel to make communication easier and faster! Indiegraf network publishers can access this new feature by simply clicking on the floating icon in the bottom-right corner of your web portal that says “Support Request.” You can send us a message when we’re online during regular business hours. After hours, we’ll receive your request by email.
- Indie Tech Pay: Take further advantage of connecting your website directly to Stripe and Indie Tech Email with a seamless on-site checkout! Indie Tech Pay also supports monthly, yearly and one-time custom amounts donation
- Better performance: We combined different services and plugins to make our websites load faster. Curious how it works? Check our testing process!
- Blocking bots that feed “AI” Models: Now we can tell Google’s crawlers to include a site in search results without using it to train new AI models. Check other AI services blocked here.
🐞 Bug fixes:
- The recirculation block now supports audio/video post types.
- The footer displays beautifully on small devices.
- A better color picker to configure your homepage top newsletter email capture.
- The sponsored content thumbnail also displays on the latest post blocks.
✅ What’s next:
- Indie Tech Pay dashboard: You’ll be able to view top line reader revenue analytics from the Indie Tech website dashboard, including gross revenue over a period of time, current MRR, current number of active monthly contributors, current number of active yearly contributors.
- Underwritten content block: An easier way to proper credit underwritten stories.
