Audience Strategist / Digital Marketing Specialist

We’re seeking an enthusiastic digital marketer/audience strategist to join our rapidly growing team to develop, execute, and analyze digital marketing strategies for our partner publishers and grow their reader revenue and audience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to developing digital marketing growth strategies and campaign plans for partner publishers across multiple platforms
  • Monitor, test, optimize, and communicate performance of campaigns
  • Analyze data, communicate insights and advise publishers on content strategy
  • Execute growth strategies including copy writing, marketing asset production (landing pages, ads), email marketing, Facebook advertising (audience development, A/B testing)
  • Contributing to the development of replicable digital toolkits and best practices to drive growth across multiple publishers
  • Contribute to partner publisher communications to ensure that their marketing needs are being addressed

Compensation range: $50,000 to $60,000 plus participation in the employee stock option plan

Key skills & competencies:

  • Strong editorial background and proofreading skills
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically about audience and revenue growth
  • Experience managing successful social media campaigns, and a solid understanding of paid acquisition
  • Programming skills, including basic HTML and CSS, an asset
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Technical skills including, WordPress, Google suite of tools (e.g., Google Sheets and Analytics), Facebook Ad Manager, Mailchimp
  • Graphic design skills, an asset
  • Solid understanding of web metrics, digital analytics, with the ability to generate, analyze and interpret data
  • Knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset but not required

Education & experience:

  • 3+ years working in digital marketing or relevant industry
  • Experience and interest in journalism is a strong asset

WordPress Developer (Junior and Intermediate)

We’re seeking skilled WordPress Developers at the junior and intermediate levels of experience to contribute to the development and maintenance of our partner publisher websites.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop WordPress websites from existing Indiegraf themes
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of existing network websites
  • Contribute to partner publisher communications to ensure that their technology and data needs are being addressed
  • Contribute to ongoing evolution of and improvements to Indiegraf themes and related tools as time allows

Compensation range: $50,000 to $70,000 plus participation in the employee stock option plan

Key skills & competencies:

  • Experience using the WordPress CMS framework (2+ years for intermediate level)
  • Experience using HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP
  • Experience with CMS-to-CMS database and asset migrations is an asset but not required
  • Experience and interest in journalism is an asset

 Director, Advertising and Sponsorship Sales

We are seeking an experienced Director to work closely with our executive team to develop innovative strategies and partnerships that drive revenue growth for our partner publishers. You will be responsible for building a high-functioning sales team and driving sales to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual targets. The successful candidate will have experience with the news industry, partnership development, team management and advertising and/or sponsorship sales.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the executive team and Indiegraf publishers to identify advertising and sponsorship revenue opportunities
  • Design and execute beta testing strategies to drive innovation of replicable, scalable advertising and sponsorship initiatives
  • Build systems and processes to roll out promising initiatives across multiple Indiegraf publishers, including assessing and implementing sales tools and data tracking systems
  • Produce compelling and replicable proposals and reports that capture the deep engagement impact of our publishers for sponsors and advertising partners
  • Build sales team, including recruitment, training and performance management systems
  • Develop effective digital marketing campaigns to drive lead generation
  • Negotiate and close sponsorship and advertising sales
  • Cultivate partnerships to increase lifetime value and provide excellent customer service
  • Achieve sales team’s quarterly and annual targets
  • Contribute to other Indiegraf revenue initiatives, including publisher sales and membership growth, as appropriate

Compensation range: Minimum $70,000/year with commission, depending on experience, plus participation in the employee stock option plan

  • have relevant post-secondary education and significant professional experience. You have firsthand experience of sales, sponsorship and fundraising processes in the news industry.
